What Makes Potenza Better?

Potenza, the new gold standard, adds the element of radiofrequency energy to the traditional microneedling procedure. This delivers thermal energy to the deeper tissue area of the dermis causing tissue contraction. The energy/heat from Potenza also triggers the body to produce collagen and elastin, resulting in skin tightening through soft-tissue coagulation.

First, the microneedle tip is placed on the epidermis with gentle pressure.

Next, microneedles penetrate the tissue. There are numerous settings for depth of treatment.

Then, monopolar or bipolar energy is directly applied to the targeted area.

Finally, collagen remodeling and elastin strengthening begins.

Potenza vs. Morpheus8

Both Morpheus8 and Potenza are great skin resurfacing modalities. With that said, the big difference is that Potenza is FDA approved for every single skin color, from the lightest of light to the darkest of dark. However, Morpheus 8 is only approved for lighter skin colors. At Tri Medical Aesthetics, we believe Potenza is the better option.

What is the benefit of microneedling treatments that use RF energy?

Using RF energy will trigger your body’s natural response to create an increased level of collagen and elastin production, resulting in an enhanced skin revitalization treatment versus microneedling alone.

What is radio frequency?

Radio Frequency (RF) is part of the electromagnetic spectrum characterized by a specific frequency measurable in Hertz (Hz). RF energy produces a change in the electrical charges of the treated skin creating an electron movement.

How long does the treatment take?

Treatment times may vary, however most treatments can be performed in 45 minutes or less.

How can the Zimmer MedizinSystems Cryo cold air device improve my experience?

Studies have shown that skin cooling with the Cryo 6 cold air device reduces patients’ pain and sensitivity. Unlike other cooling methods, such as contact cooling, cryogen spray, or ice packs, the Cryo 6 can cool the epidermis before, during, and after treatment. As a result, treatments can be tolerated significantly better.

Dr. Paul Tritel

Paul Tritel, MD is the medical director of Tri Medical Aesthetics (TMA). A Southwest Florida native, he returned to Fort Myers to practice at Internal Medicine Associates in 2004. In 2017, he founded Tritel Concierge Medicine with his wife Lisa, and continues to practice there.

Dr. Tritel is a highly experienced physician holding an active board certification in Internal Medicine since 1999. He has a holistic approach to medicine and believes in the importance of a well-rounded approach to medical care. He understands the vital roles of diet, exercise, and nutrition so that patients can maintain not only their health but also their quality of life.

Paul believes in the importance of the mind, body and spirit, but also has come to understand how aesthetic services can produce meaningful positive lifestyle changes. He has embraced this new and exciting role as a student and a teacher.
