Before starting laser hair removal treatments, a scheduled consultation is required to determine if this is an appropriate treatment option for you. Your provider will review your medical history, including medication use, history of skin disorders or scarring, and past hair removal procedures. We’ll discuss risks, benefits, and expectations, including what laser hair removal can and cannot do for you. Photos are taken are for before-and-after assessments and long-term reviews.

The provider will also offer specific instructions to prepare before the day of treatment.

Treatments are virtually painless and will vary patient to patient. Patients describe a range of sensations during treatment from tingling to the snapping of a rubber band. Studies have shown that skin cooling with the Zimmer MedizinSystems Cryo cold air device reduces patients’ pain and sensitivity.

Treatments can take from just 5-60 minutes depending on the size of the area being treated. Treating a small area, such as the upper lip, might take only a few minutes. However, treating a larger area, such as the back, might take more than an hour.

A series of 3-6 treatments is recommended for optimal results but, every patient is different. Work with your provider to develop a plan that is right for you!

Our hair naturally grows in 3 different stages. All our hair is not in the same stage at the same time, so when an area is treated only a percentage of hair follicles will be affected. Therefore, to effectively reduce your unwanted hair, multiple treatments are necessary.

Most people experience hair removal that lasts several months, and it might last for years. But laser hair removal doesn’t guarantee permanent hair removal. When hair regrows, it’s usually thinner and lighter in color.

The area treated cannot be exposed to the sun before and after your treatment. Speak to your provider to determine how long to avoid sun exposure.

Immediately following treatment, the area may show slight erythema with some swelling. Blistering may occur. Post-treatment skin care instructions for the client must be followed to prevent any complications.
